Zambia Finish Third In CECAFA Cup

The Chipolopolo of Zambia finished third in the third place playoff   of the CECAFA 2013  senior cup after beating Tanzania  1 (6) – 1 (5)  on penalties.  Goalkeeper Joshua Titima  saved a penalty from Tanzania’s captain Kelvin Yondani.

The game ended in a one all draw in regular timeafter Ronald Kampamba  scored in the 7th minute.  Kilimanjaro star Mbwana Samata netted one for his side.

 

Zambia’s Mtonga  Kondwani and Justin Zulu missed their spot kicks while Chananogo, Mwirisho Ngassa and Kelvin Yondani also failed to capitalise on their penalty kicks.  Felix Katongo, Ronald Kampamba, Captain Bronson Chama, Julius Situmbeko, Rodrick Kabwe and Kabaso Chongo led Zambia to the third position after they converted their spot kicks.

For their efforts, the Zambian team bagged Us  dollars 10,000 as prize money.
