Uganda Ludo Association Misses Out On World Championship In USA

Uganda Ludo Association (ULA) will not participate in the world championship 2015 event of Ludo in Los Vergas USA because they registered late with the International Ludo Federation (ILF). The Association made the announcement today.

However IFL will meet in early March, 2015 with a purpose of considering Uganda’s request to participate in the world event giving Uganda hope for leaving a  slim chance of Uganda being considered by the international body because Uganda is among the top three countries in Africa.

 

Uganda Ludo Association became a member to International Ludo Federation (ILF) in September,2014, a time registration for the tournament had ended.

 

Without losing hope, ULA has selected 50 players made of 10 female participants and 40 male participants respectively to make the national team of 5 female and 10 male players for the US trip.

The National Chairperson Kalule Hussein has said that, announcing the final team of 15 participants made of 10 male participants and 5 female participants respectively shall be made on 27th March, 2015 to prepare for the event in case IFL Okays them to participate.

 

TRAINING REFEREES

 

ULA has resolved to train referees in 30 districts in order to get rid of the shortage of ULA referees who umpire the ludo game. And this special training program of referees is to kick off on 28th February to 28th April, 2015. Each district is to send 10 representatives. The training will be examined and properly assessed thereafter the finalists shall be certified as official ULA referees.  Those who qualify shall be eligible to elect or be voted on the new executive committee governing ULA referees since the current one chaired by Mr. Ssebaka David its tenure is to expire in early March, 2015.

 

In the same way the national super league committee started to inspect venues for clubs to participate in the super league 2015 in order to ensure that they suit the required standards. Other elements to pay attention to are: – the playing boards, dice, hygiene of the venue, security and safety of the venue among others before the super league officially kicks off in April, 2015. The committee reserves the right and mandate to disqualify any participating club which will fail to meet the required standards, procedures and requirements. When we talk about participating clubs in this particular league, we mean the 20 clubs from different districts.
