Uganda Out of CECAFA

The Kilimanjaro stars are through to the semis of the CECAFA senior challenge cup after beating defending champions Uganda 3-2 on penalties A minute silence was observed for the late Nelson Mandela at the Mombasa Municipal Stadium.

Dan Sserunkuma’s strike in the 16th minute put the cranes in the lead while Tanzania’s Mwrisho Ngassa scored a brace for the Kilimanjaro stars putting them in the lead.

The taifa stars were reduced to 10 men after Salum Abubaker recieved his matching orders after being shown a red card.

Cranes Defender, Martin Mpuga equalised for Uganda in the 73rd minute and the game ended 2-2. Tanzania’s penalties were scored by Patrick Yondani, Erasto Nyoni, Frank Domayo and Ramadhan Kiemba.



Hamis Kizza Hamis  Emmanuel Okwi scored 2 penalty kicks for Uganda while Aucho Khalid and Sserunkuma missed theirs.
