KCCA FC left back Joseph Ochaya, who rejoined them in 2013 from Asante Kotoko will travel to South Africa on Wednesday night for trials with Bidvest Wits in Johannesburg. This will be the third time Ochaya tries out with a foreign side after previous trials in Vietnam and Ghana proved futile.
“I will be leaving this week; I have been allowed and I am ready to impress at any club given [an] opportunity. It is always a pleasure for a player to try out his luck and I think this is my time. I have been advised by many people including David (Obua) who played in South Africa sometime back and hope to follow that guidance,” said Ochaya after the Monday training.
KCCA FC chief executive officer David Tamale said the club agreed with the player and expect him to be out of the country for two weeks. The final decision will depend on reports from the South African side, whether they have been impressed with Ochaya and are ready to employ his services.
Towards the end of last season Ochaya was linked to European move, supposedly in France though no exact club was disclosed. Ochaya says that there is no limitation on his move as long as KCCA FC allows him to try out anywhere; he didn’t dismiss chances of a European move but insisted South Africa is the priority now.
