NBS Tv Shuffles Programmes As Competition With NTV Intensifies

According to a recent report released by IPOS, the top 3 television stations as of 1st November 2015 are; Bukedde- 36%, NTV -29%, and NBS- 26% in that order.

Apparently NBS would be ahead of NTV if it didn’t have the 7pm Luganda news bulletin, ‘Akawungezi’.

“NBS needs just an antidote for NTV Akawungeezi, which is bringing a bulk of NTV’s share. If that is sorted, NTV could be relegated to number 3. That antidote unfortunately maybe to poach Frank Walusimbi,” Joel Isabirye, a media consultant advised.

NBS may not necessarily be poaching Walusimba as per the advice but it has resorted to other remedies to deal with ‘Akawungezi’.

One such remedy is the shifting of their Luganda news bulletin, ‘Amassengejje’ to the same time with ‘Akawungezi’.

‘Amassengejje’, which is currently airing at 9pm will soon shift to 7pm as the Kamwokya based TV tries to position itself as the number one station in the country.
