URA’s management , which runs WBS Tv have dismissed reports claiming the station has been sold to Kin Kariisa.
Kariisa owns NBS Tv and Salaam Tv.
But according to Kabiito Karamagi, the manager WBS Ltd (in Receivership), there is no any agreement for NBS Tv to purchase or takeover WBS.
“The Receiver of WBS would like to clarify that the rumours that have been circulating around on social media that NBS Tv has concluded a deal to purchase/takeover WBS are false, unfounded and intended to mislead the public. Any matters relating to the management and disposal of WBS are under the control of the Receiver and he has not entered into any such transaction with anyone,” Kabiito states in a statement released in relation to the rumours.
Reports had claimed WBS Tv had been sold to NBS and the raising station was to shift soon to WBS’ home in Naguru on conclusion of the deal.
WBS, owned by city businessman, Gordon Wavamuno is currently under receivership after failing to pay its taxes amounting to Shs7billion to URA.
