Following his impressive brace cameo during the Cranes’ charity match in Nakasongola, Proline striker Edrisa Lubega impressed Cranes’ head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic and the national coach has pledged to afford the youthful striker more playing time.
“We have been with him for a while, we went with him [to] Botswana and we shall still follow him before the Comoros game and see his progress. With more improvement he will have more playing time with the national team,” said Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic.
Cranes won 4-1, with Derrick Nsibambi and Shaban Mohamed scoring the other two goals. After Lubega’s remarkable season 2015/2016 where he his side to promotion scoring 22 goals the whole season, Lubega also earned a Cranes call up to represent Uganda at the CHAN Championships in Rwanda.
But his Cranes appearance against Zimbabwe in Rwanda remains the only competitive game but Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic says they are still counting on him.
The Cranes’ coach believes with such games where Cranes play games with regional sides can make Lubega genuine Cranes material especially with Cranes forward Geoffrey Massa waning career.
